Elegant shell dishes exemplified the best of early 19th century ceramics as a part of the Charleston dinner service.

Adapted from a mid-19th century English example, the bright, gilded edges & Asian detail were representative of dinner services found on the Atlanta trade routes.

Shell dishes were widely used after the meal service to offer nuts and sweets.
