$20.00
The Historic Museum Collection Plate

The Historic Museum Collection Plate Jabberwocky design is an 8.25" Rinka Plate made of fine porcelain china. The Worcester "Jabberwocky" plates were painted by James Giles who began painting for the Worcester factory in England in the early 1760's. Today the pattern is called "Jabberwocky" but was described when introduced in 1769 as "the rich dragon" pattern. Each plate is decorated in rich tones of red, blue, green, yellow and turquoise and gliding within a 12-sided petal shaped rim. The plates are presently in the English bedroom at The Elms, Newport, Rhode Island. They were donated to the Society by Mrs.Guy F. Cary of Newport, the great-aunt of Lady Diana Spencer. This collectible plate would make a wonderful wedding, birthday or housewarming gift.
