Dating from 1869 to 1888, the Sevres tea set service displays a loose bouquet of flowers beneath a decorative band enriched with a gilt honeysuckle motif. The Vanderbilt's set included a teapot and cover, sugar bowl and cover, cream jug, waste bowl, and 13 cups and saucers. The original service was hand painted by various painters and gilders several years after the forms were produced. Biltmore House staff discovered the set in the Oak Sitting Room of Biltmore House. This collectible plate would make a wonderful wedding, birthday or housewarming gift.
