This Staffordshire yellow striped sitting cat or black & gray sitting cat with white face and feet, is scratching it's face. Measures 7.75" tall. The handpainted technique used on these cats is referred to as "Spongeware." It dates back to the 17th and 18th Centuries. It involves using specially hand-cut sponges to print color directly on the unfired ware.
