McGeesGiftshop.com grew from a retail gift shop located within a local independent pharmacy in Shelbyville, Tennessee. The pharmacy opened in 1977 as the dream fulfilled of a newly graduated pharmaceutical student to open a small pharmacy in his home town. Providing a small gift shop was a dream of his wife. Today, David and Shirley own and operate a large, successful pharmacy and gift business. All three of the owners children (two daughters and a son) have grown up in the pharmacy/gift store and have been involved in various aspects of the business. Their oldest daughter manages the pharmacy, gift shop, and overall operations. The youngest daughter helped to launch and build the present Internet gift website. Through the years many families have trusted their pharmaceutical needs and have been given diligent care from the owner, who has provided a most accurate and up to date service and individual care.

As the years progressed, more and more local shoppers came to place their trust in the gift shop for their gift needs. Many people have come to McGee’s to shop for birthday, Christmas and holiday, housewarming, wedding, and baby shower gifts. Providing quality, fashionable gifts and decorative accessories has always been a goal of the owners.

In the summer of 2003, David and Shirley ventured out with a new project for McGee’s, thus launching McGeesGiftshop.com. By doing so, they could offer the same beautiful gifts and decorative accessories in their shop to shoppers on their website.
